(1/17/08) - Knight Trax Completes Training Camp in Deland
Knight Trax Completed its second training camp in Deland. The Team made Approximately 90 Jumps, Most of which were out of the sky van due to the high number of teams that are currently training in Deland most of which are training for the World meet in Maubeuge, France. Knight Trax did manage to launch a successful exit out of the porter after many failed attempts (see video) The exit is the easier of the 3 exits that the team will be launching this year, but provides a good foundation to start looking at the other two more complex exits that are needed. Although the World meet will be out of the porter this year, it is beneficial to jump the sky van as teams are able to simulate the exit frame once in free fall. this means that we are able to put 5 people on the starboard side of the airplane and 3 on the port side much like we would from the porter. The sky van is also incredibly comfortable in comparison, meaning you can move around a little and even stand up when the red light comes on. |

Generally because the Drop zone was so busy we would do a set of five jumps from 6000 feet right at sun rise. We were fortunate enough to be followed by the startskydiving.com caravan on some of these jumps. It is from this caravan that we got these amazing still pictures and video . During the busy training camp the team managed to have an interview with Kurt Gabel from the NSL News, Kurt was interested in how the team was doing and also wanted to talk about the possibility of the new judging system. The new judging system that may be implemented would be half speed judging. the whole interview can be found here Knight Trax will be training again at Paraclete XP from February 6-8 and weather dependent may do some more low altitude training in North Carolina. The training coincides with the Paraclete XP head down record attempts which I will also be attending. The group is planning 20 ways in the tunnel.
